LectoMobile allows one to play repackaged video lectures on a miniature display using the keyhole imaging technique such that the legibility of the text is retained. It brings the lecture classroom to a mobile handset. The lecture video must first be converted to a suitable form that includes keyframe images audio data and an XML file that contains the penpositions for keyhole imaging purposes. The animation is carried out on your handset itself. To use this app, you need the media to enjoy the classroom experience. Some sample media is available at the Lectomobile webpage http:www.ee.iitb.ac.inlectomobileMedia can be provided either in a zip file or in a folder with necessary component files. We expect educational media provider will produce the necessary media for users to benefit from this application. The key concept here is to drastically compress the lecture video say, an MPEG file by an order of magnitude at least by a factor of 15 and depends upon the audio codec used so that the corresponding media can be delivered over a low bandwidth network without affecting the pedagogy. More details can be found at the above webpage. The completely automated media conversion technology and this particular android application have been developed by researchers at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
